Legal Services

The Department of Legal Services works closely with the NTI Board of Directors, senior staff, and external counsel in the provision of legal services to the organization. Responsibilities include conducting legal research and providing legal advice in several areas of the law including Nunavut Agreement interpretation and implementation, Indigenous and constitutional law, administrative, corporate, employment, wildlife and natural resources law, contracts, reviewing legislation and regulations, preparing submissions on proposed legislation, appearing before Institutions of Public Government and government agencies, and overseeing litigation.
