October 5, 2026 (Iqaluit, Nunavut) – Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Navarana Beveridge as its new Chief Executive Officer following a competitive selection process.

Beveridge brings two decades of experience working with Inuit organizations in Nunavut, including executive and senior management experience with the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA). Her work has included organizational leadership, strategic planning, social policy and developing practical solutions to issues affecting Inuit.

“Navarana understands our organizations, our communities and the issues that matter to Nunavut Inuit,” said NTI President Gloria Uluqsi. “She brings strong leadership experience, but just as importantly, she understands that our work must remain grounded in the people we serve. I am very pleased to welcome Navarana to NTI and I look forward to working closely with her as we strengthen our organization and advance the priorities of Nunavut Inuit.”

Throughout her career, Beveridge has worked on a range of initiatives affecting Inuit. Her experience includes helping to develop governance around distinctions-based housing solutions for Inuit, project managing the creation of the Research Training Centre in Pond Inlet, and serving as one of the Inuit negotiators on the Mary River Project Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreement.

“I am deeply honoured to accept the role of Chief Executive Officer of NTI,” said Beveridge. “There is much work ahead to strengthen our communities and empower Inuit, but I believe our greatest progress will come through partnership, working together across organizations and jurisdictions to achieve the best outcomes for Nunavut Inuit. I look forward to working with NTI's leadership, staff and partners.”

Beveridge was raised in Greenland and has been based in Nunavut for the past 30 years. She speaks Kalaallisut, Danish, English and Inuktitut and brings a strong circumpolar perspective to her work.

She is a former Jane Glassco Northern Fellow with The Gordon Foundation and has published work on Inuit education and language. She currently serves on the Board of The Gordon Foundation and was appointed Honorary Consul for Nunavut by the Embassy of Denmark in Canada in 2021.

Beveridge was also part of the group of parents who founded Tumikuluit Saipaaqivik, the first Inuktitut daycare in Iqaluit.

Beveridge will begin her role as Chief Executive Officer of NTI on October 13, 2026.
