Calling for Health Career Mentors for Inuit Youth!

Attached is a poster and application form about an exciting opportunity for adults in Nunavut who would like to provide encouragement and support for Inuit youth who are considering pursuing health careers.   A health careers camp is taking place in Iqaluit in February, for Inuit youth from all regions.  This is a pilot project that may become an annual event.  We are seeking adults involved with youth or in health programs and services to:
  • accompany 2-3 youth to the camp in Iqaluit
  • to participate in two of the 5 days of camp
  • to follow up with the youth after camp and offer support
All travel and accommodations costs will be covered for this opportunity. This camp will be designed by and for Nunavummiut, but based on a health sciences camp that takes place in Northern Ontario.  See this link:  https://youtu.be/lp8zx8ywGRo

With apologies that we do not yet have these:
An Inuinnaqtuun application form will follow in the near future, and the poster will be updated to reflect Nunavut's four official languages at that time.   Anyone with questions or comments is welcome to contact me or Sidney Horlick (sidney.horlick@qhrc.ca) the camp coordinator.
