Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI) represents Inuit across Nunavut and works to ensure the promises made under the Nunavut Agreement are carried out.
Through the Nunavut Agreement, Inuit exchanged Aboriginal title to their traditional lands in the Nunavut Settlement Area for the rights and benefits set out in the Agreement. These rights are at the heart of NTI’s work.
NTI coordinates and manages the Inuit responsibilities set out in the Nunavut Agreement and works to ensure the federal and territorial governments meet their obligations to Inuit.
Land, water and wildlife are central to Inuit life, culture and well-being. NTI works to protect Inuit rights and interests in these areas while supporting Inuit priorities across Nunavut.
Our work includes housing, health, education, economic development, language and culture, research, wildlife, land and water, and the environment. We work with regional Inuit organizations, communities and governments to strengthen Inuit communities and ensure Inuit benefit from the rights and opportunities guaranteed under the Nunavut Agreement.
