Tentative Agreement Reached in Lawsuit

(March 9, 2015 -- Iqaluit, Nunavut)       Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) President Cathy Towtongie today announced that a tentative settlement has been reached by negotiators in the lawsuit against the Government of Canada concerning implementation of the 1993 Nunavut Land Claims Agreement.

Details of the settlement will be disclosed once the agreement has been considered and approved by NTI, the Government of Canada and the Government of Nunavut.

Pending approval of the settlement by the three parties, the trial, which was scheduled to start Mar. 9, 2015, has been adjourned.
