NTI Congratulates Eva Aariak as Commissioner of Nunavut

(January 19, 2021, Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) Acting President James Eetoolook today congratulated Eva Aariak on her appointment to the role of Commissioner of Nunavut. Aariak has had an extensive career serving Nunavummiut in various capacities.  She has served as the first Languages Commissioner of Nunavut, elected as the MLA representing Iqaluit East, and was then chosen as the first female Premier of Nunavut. “We appreciate that in all of Aariak’s accomplishments and ventures, the promotion of Inuktut and Inuit culture has always been at the forefront,” said President Eetoolook NTI would like to thank outgoing commissioner Nellie Kusugak for her dedication and service to Nunavummiut.
