NTI Applauds Air Greenland’s Announcement Regarding Scheduled flights Between Iqaluit and Nuuk, Greenland.

(January 23, 2012 – Rankin Inlet, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. President Cathy Towtongie today applauds Air Greenland’s announcement to open scheduled flights between Nuuk, Greenland and Iqaluit.
“Inuit between the two circumpolar regions have longed the access for an air link. The announcement brought exciting news for many families across Nunavut, as there is a historical connection to the migration of their ancestors.” said Towtongie. “Inuit will now be able to learn, share, and rekindle the similar cultures, and expand on traditional and modern economies”.
Air Greenland plans to fly between Iqaluit and Nuuk on Mondays and Fridays, starting June 18th until September 3rd.
